Baking Lately #4

Baking Lately #4

Hello fellow bakers & friends,

2024 has been a really great baking year, and I am really looking forward to what 2025 will bring. I’m excited to share my most recent bakes with you in the meantime

Scones

Sally’s Apple Cinnamon Scones are literally the perfect texture. The right amount of denseness but still chewy and not dry. I highly recommend checking out her scone recipes as she has sooo many variations. They are a very fun and easy baking funtivity, and best of all, no mixer required!

Toffee

I also love her easy saltine toffee recipe! It is fun, easy, and a perfect treat to snack on throughout the week. It would also make a great gift for the upcoming holidays.

Cakes

So far this year I’ve baked and decorated 10 cakes! I am hoping to fit in 1-2 more before the end of the year. My most recent cakes have been snickerdoodle (with the exterior rolled in cinnamon sugar), Lilo and Stitch, Cookies ‘n Cream, and a sunshine themed adoption cake.

I’ve really worked hard to practice getting level cakes and smooth finishes! The most recent cake I delivered was a surprise for the youth and was a great reminder of the positive impact the baking organization I’m part of makes!

Pecan Sandies
The baking organization I am involved in, Cake4Kids, is holding a holiday cookie shop where you can order a cookie box featuring a minimum of 15 assorted cookies baked by home bakers. My contribution will be these pecan sandies . They are the perfect mix of crumbly shortbread like texture, melt in your mouth chewy texture, and toasty galore (thanks to the pecans). They honestly may be one of my favorite cookies I’ve ever made.

I hope you find some baking inspo in this post & I look forward to sharing more of a baking recap before year’s end and maybe some 2025 baking goals! Bake on!!
